Auditions for Triassic Parq, the Musical

The Funhouse Lounge is excited to announce its upcoming show, “Triassic Parq the Musical”. This is an irreverent, edgy stage musical version of the film “Jurassic Park”, but told from the dinosaurs’ point of view. Having been created all females so as not to reproduce, they celebrate their shared female-ness. Until one day, when their world gets thrown into chaos as “life finds a way”, and one of them spontaneously transitions. It deals with themes of sex, religion and gender identity. And has a bunch of great songs.

Show dates are Thursdays thru Saturdays, May 23rd to June 14th at 7pm. There will also be a Sunday matinee in the mix. Rehearsals will begin April 20th.

Roles include:

Velociraptor of Innocence (male, tenor)
Velociraptor of Faith (male, baritone)
Velociraptor of Science (female, alto)
T-Rex #1 (female, mezzo)
T-Rex #2 (female, soprano)
Mime-a-saurus (male/ female, alto/tenor)
Chorus-asaurus (male or female, range varies) (may be more than 1)

In order to audition, you should have some musical theater experience.

Prepare a monologue (app 1 minute), and 32 bars of a song. Bring sheet music.

Auditions will be held Sunday, March 31st, from 1 to 4pm. Callbacks will be the following night, Monday, April 1st.

E-mail your headshot and resume for your audition slot.. Andy @ funhouselounge dot com

If you cannot make the auditions, but are still interested, e-mail me and let me know. We might hold additional auditions. No guarantees, but we might.

The songs, as well as the story, are created new every night by a cast of human and puppet characters, based on audience suggestions.

Tickets start at $16
